The 7th foundation Day of Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan was held on 20th April 2011.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Mr Sitaram Sharma, well known Industrialist and social worker. The award ceremony for the session 2010-11 was also held. Prizes were distributed for Academics and General Proficiency. Rabindranath Taogre’s Dance Drama ‘Kaal Mrigaya’ was staged by the students of classes VIII and IX. The juniors too presented a medley of popular English numbers while the middle school students put up a Bharat Natyam recital. At the end sweet packets were distributed to all the students.

Poushali Bhattacharya of Class IX of Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan won the 1st Prize in the "Tata Budding India School Essay Competition 2009-2010"
The Regional awards Function was held at GD Sabhagar on 15th November. The winner was awarded a certificate, a trophy and a gift of a handycam.

Children's day was celebrated in Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan on Saturday 13th November
The students were allowed to come in coloured dresses. This being the 150th Birth anniversary of the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, the teachers presented programs based on his work. There was also an impromptu catwalk competition for the Class 8, 9 and 10 students. Pallavi Pathak of class 8 emerged the winner and Neha singh of class 9 was the runner up. Sweet packets were distributed to all the students.

Student of Class-X visited City Centre on 3rd of September
Students of Class X of Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan visited City Centre on 3rd of September and donated more than 1000 books to the Aviva great Wall . They were accompanied by Ms M.Chowdhury, Ms Nandita Goswami and Ms Kuheli Dutta.

Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan students bag Gold
The All India School Karate -Do Championship-2010 was held at the Netaji Indoor stadium on 22nd August. More than 1000 Participants from more than 14 states which included northern states like Punjab, Maharashtra and Manipur, Assam in the east, took part. 20 students of Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan took part in the Championship. The school bagged 1 Gold, 1 silver and 1 Bronze Medals. The winners were Raman Shaw of Class VII (Gold), Asmita Roy of Class VII ( Silver) and Amritanshu Singh Class VII (Bronze).

Inter Class Elocution Competition
Inter Class Elocution Competition of classes LKG and UKG was held on 29th June 2010. 15 students participated and 11 were selected for the finals.
LKG A - 1st - Shruti Bhalotia, 2nd - Riya Pattanaik, 3rd - Ranadeb Roy.
LKG B - 2nd - Muskan Bhalotia, 3rd - Shubham Sharma.
UKG A - 1st - Kashish Yadav, 2nd - Samali Das.
UKG B - 1st - Rachaita Dey, 3rd - Utsav Nayak.
The students were awarded with prizes, gifts and certificates by Ms. U. Subba (Principal).

6th Foundation Day 2010
The 6th Foundation day of Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan was held on 20th April'10. The lamp was lighted by the Chairman. The annual prize giving ceremony took place on the same day too. Students were awarded prizes and certificates for General Proficiency, Good Conduct and 100% Attendance. Ms. Piu Das ( Primary Section ) and Ms. M.Chowdhury ( Secondary Section) were awarded the 100% prizes. A delightful dance by the class I students set everyone rocking. Recollections of childhood a musical presentation set everyone wondering about the pressures on the youngsters. The students were given food packets and the programme ended with the national anthem.
Yoga Workshop
A yoga workshop was conducted by Swami Maheshananda from the Munger Bihar School of yoga. The session was an interesting one as he taught the students yogic animal postures and introduced them to visualisation, answering to some queries by the students he suggested the students could improve their attention span by the surya namaskar and other yoga asanas. The 2 hr workshop left the students wrapped with attention and opened their minds to the old Indian tradition of yoga as a means of maintaining both physical and mental health.
Republic Day - 26.01.2010
Republic day was celebrated in our school with a march past by the four huses and the hoisting of the tri colour by the chief guest Mr. B. Seksaria. The senior students gave a rendition of patriotic numbers like sa re jahan se acha, vande mataram. The class II students presented tableau depicting india's struggle for freedom, which was appreciated by all. The programme ended with the national anthem and distribution of sweets to all the students.
Maggi Quiz Contest - 07.09.2009
The Maggi Quiz Competition was conducted by Mr Gaurav Gupta in the school premises in September. The four houses, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow put up a tough fight as the quiz master quizzed them on subjects varying from Literature, History to films.

All India School Karate-Do Championship - 23.08.2009
12 students from Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan took part in the All India School Karate-Do Championship held at Netaji Indoor Stadium on 23rd august 2009. They bagged 5 bronze medals and 1 silver medal in various categories. More than 156 schools took part in the competition.
15th August 2009
Independence Day was celebrated with great deal of patriotic fervour inspite of the slight drizzle. Our Chairman Mr S. S. Beriwal hoisted the tricolor which was followed by the march past by the senior students.After the March past many dances set to patriotic songs were presented.A vibrant and energetic "Kaziranga" enthralled the audience comprising of Management members, guardians and students.
The Independence program was followed by a colourful presentation on Janmasthami by the primary section students.

Workshop on "Child Care at Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan" - 13.1.2009
On 13.01.09 a workshop was held for the guardians of the students of the school. Eminent pediatrician Dr. Rajesh Goel, who is associated with Columbia Asia conducted the presentation with a power point presentation and brought to light many facts about the common ailments children suffered from. It was interesting to know about the proper way of brushing teeth, simple ways of preventing diahorrea and cold. He stressed on the need of good eating habits and astounded the audience by informing them that a 330ml of coke contained almost twelve teaspoonfuls of sugar! Dr. Goel later fielded questions from the guardians varying from information about hepatitis, chicken pox and breathing problems faced by their children.
The workshop was the first of its kind in the school and was well received and appreciated by the guardians of the school.

4th Annual Sports - 20.12.2008
The 4th annual Sports was held on 20th December in the school ground. Dr Biswajiban Mazumdar, Chairman of bidhannagar Municipality was the chief Guest and Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Councillor of Ward 11 was the Guest of Honour. Mr S.S.Beriwal, Chairman of Salt Lake shiksha Niketan gave the welcome address. The Chief Guest praised the school governing body for their good work not only in the field of education but also their contribution in helping the flood affected people of Bihar by arranging for relief.
The students presented a variety of drills ranging from flag drills to Kaleidoscope, featuring a riot of colours by the students of Class III. The Class VII and VIII students presented different geometric formation with their colourful hoops to the beat of the lively 'popcorn'.The karate display showede the physical prowess of the students The athletic events drew a great deal of enthusiasm amongst the students and the crowning glory went to Red House when they bagged the winners overall trophy.

Picnic at Ibiza - 09.12.2008
153 students along with 6 teachers went to Ibiza resort for a picnic on 9th Dec 08. The students reached there early in the morning and was greeted by lush green lawns and hot mouth watering jalebis, puris and potato curry. This was followed by various games like tug-of-war, musical chairs etc. Some children took a dip in the inviting clear waters of the swimming pool, whilst the rest took turns at playing basket ball and shaking a leg at the disco which churned out the latest numbers. Lunch was a sumptuous affair. At 3 pm it was time to return home after an enjoyable day.
